Trip Zip provides a service to both Passengers and Private Hire/Chauffeur businesses by allowing journey requirements to be matched with empty space. Our aim is to increase the efficiency and profitability of businesses whilst allowing reduced fares to be offered to consumers (i.e. a win-win).  By reducing the number of times vehicles travel empty results in a less environmental impact from pollution and a reduction in congestion on the roads.

tripzip.biz is just like 'ebay'. The difference is that we focus only on Journey Auctions - 'Passenger Requiring Journey' and 'Empty Space for Sale' as described below:

PASSENGER REQUIRING JOURNEY

A Passenger can list their specific journey requirements on tripzip.biz for FREE stating the maximum fare they are prepared to pay. We will then automatically e-mail all registered Private Hire/Chauffeur businesses in the geographic area of the listing and invite them to bid using reverse bidding (i.e. competing to offer a lower price):

The title of each Journey Auction listing is automatically created from the information provided by the person listing the journey. This takes the form: Journey Auction Type, Pickup Location, Pickup Date, Pickup Time, Destination Location e.g.

When browsing the category or search results, further details of each journey listing including the most likely route (courtesy of mapquest) can be viewed by clicking on the 'VIEW DETAILS' button. From this page, Private Hire/Chauffeur businesses can place a bid by outbidding other businesses.

EMPTY SPACE FOR SALE

A Private Hire/Chauffeur business can list an empty leg of a journey for sale on our website. This can be viewed by other Private Hire/Chauffeur businesses and purchased in order to fulfill an existing passenger booking. Alternatively Passengers themselves can also purchase an 'empty space' to satisfy their own journey requirements:
